Abstract
AI is the imitation of human intelligence by machines, and it has become ubiquitous in the past decade. AI is penetrating the business operations of resource utilisation and optimisation logistics, and revolutionising decisionmaking processes (Dwivedi et al., 2021). AI is a technology which operation managers can use to make their procedures leaner and more cost-effective. With the world moving towards data-driven capability, organisations are leveraging AI-enabled analytics tools in their quest to improve decision-making (Hasan et al., 2025). These technologies deploy robust algorithms with machine learning techniques to process large data sets to garner valuable insights and provide more accurate plans of action, and can improve the efficiency with which profits are gained with respect to operating costs The profitability of any business or investment relies on operational efficiency. This is because the entity can earn more revenue or income at the same cost or at a lower cost relative to the alternative (Akinsulire et al., 2024). AI and human-robot collaboration (HRC) can be considered key enablers of organisational operational excellence.
